Shiatsu
Gina Saka is a Certified & Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Thai Massage Therapist in the Chicagoland area. She is also member of The American Massage Therapy Association. Recognizing that not every person's needs are the same, Gina will often incorporate various techniques into a session, such as elements of Shiatsu, Thai yoga therapy and trigger point therapy, thus enhancing and tailoring each session uniquely to the individual.
Shiatsu is a form of therapeutic Japanese acupressure massage in which pressure is applied to the client's body not only with the therapist's thumbs and palms but also the fists, elbows, forearms, feet and knees. Shiatsu opens and stretches meridians in the body releasing any blocked or stagnant chi and tonifies any depletion in the body to restore it's natural harmony. Much like Thai massage, Shiatsu is done fully clothed on a mat. In Zen Shiatsu the work is always from your Hara where the body will tell the giver exactly what meridian and extension meridian that may need attention. It's unique on it's own because the clients hara will often tell you what is going on in that person's body therefore will tell you where the session is going.
Thai Massage is an ancient art that's benefits help bring the body, mind and spirit back into balance. Thai Massage is similar to acupressure and shiatsu but combined with stretches and yogic Asanas. Thai Massage will strengthen the recipient physically and helps increase range of motion and flexibility. It is often called "lazy man's yoga" because the therapist moves the client thru asanas.
I can work either Shiatsu or Thai Massage and taylor it to your needs. I also like to combine both Shiatsu and Thai Massage into one session. It's a beautiful and powerful way to work meridians with in your body and it's creative and fun!

Yoga can be beneficial to all . A person may begin at any age and can go on reaping its benefits. is possible with steady and prolonged sincere practice of Yoga. It activates a process of cleansing and purification of mind, which in turn, prepares us for the dawning of Self-knowledge. Yoga means this connection; this knowledge that removes the impurities and the veil of ignorance that keeps us strangers to ourselves.
